GET OUT OF YOUR SHELL.
"Introvert, abi you no get money?"
Dear friend,
I hope this letter meets you well as it's been a while since you last read from me and I want to extend my apologies for the silence. I've been learning how to become a good nurse and doing some things sha.
Recently, I've been reflecting on life and stepping out of comfort zones. And I'd like to share my thoughts with you, as always.
A while back, I subscribed to a newsletter 'cause I appreciated the content.
The author talked about introversion, its perks, and advantages and I let myself drown in the content because I like(d) to classify myself as an introvert.
I understand how it is; wanting to shut yourself out of the world….
I found it comforting to find someone who understood and could articulate my thoughts and help me navigate life even with my kind of personality.
It got to a point where I was always waiting for a notification from them, until recently when I stopped.
I didn't stop because their content lost its relevance, but because I wanted more and if I continued reading consistently, I would begin to accept that and bend my being towards what I consumed.
I recognized that limiting myself to a particular identity, in this case, being an introvert, might hinder my progress.
Life has taught me that sometimes we need to speak up, take on new challenges, and connect with others to move forward.
Now, I am not saying you should be the loudest person in the room, there should be limits to how much you talk, but talk when necessary. Don't let things pass you by because you are an introvert.
Don't get too comfortable with being in your shell. Come out at times and do some things you normally won't do, even though you might need to recharge your social battery after that.
Also, you can't do life alone. You need others to move forward. You don't even need a million people around you to succeed. Just have the right ones and you'll break through.
Have people that help you see your worth and don't get too comfortable with mediocrity. Know that there's always more to what you can achieve, and this can only be done by taking action.
My dear friend, you reading this is a sign that you can be better for yourself. You don't have to be before the whole world to do good.
The first step is to get out of your shell, challenge yourself, pick up roles you can do and are comfortable with and you'll be glad you did in the end.
But remember, everything should be moderate, and find a balance as you have to do what works for you.
Do know that I love you and you hold a special place in my heart. Till I write to you some other time.
