Dear friend,
I hope you're well. It's been a while since I last wrote to you and believe me when I say I didn't intend for this gap. Life happens, doesn't it?
You might wonder what I've been doing, but be rest assured, I've been surviving and loving. As per advocate of love.
As much as I seem excited to write this, I am not as excited as it may seem. I am back to school, and one of the things constantly ringing in my mind is how to handle the new session, loaded with activities and unending lectures.
Despite these things, I've been asking myself a question: "If not now, when?" If I don't summon the courage for this new beginning, when will I?
The only answer I am getting is that embracing worry before carrying out specific tasks won't lead to success. (I no dey worry sha, 'cause I no dey alone).
One thing I've learned is that success and worry don't go hand in hand. Most times, fearing the unknown holds one back from doing things they need to do.
Let me break down the result of allowing fear to overwhelm you.
You begin to doubt how competent you are and wonder if your actions will bring bountiful results, and sometimes you abandon them because you are convinced they won't yield anything positive.
Now, what do you do?
My dear friend, the first step to achieving your goals is letting go of fear and embracing the ability to face challenges.
You would barely succeed if you worry constantly. It wastes time that should be dedicated to work.
Whenever you feel the urge to act and worry creeps in, erase doubts and dismiss the "what ifs." Instead, ask yourself, "If not now, when?"
When will you create that beautiful music?
When will you breathe life into the ideas swimming in your mind?
When will you write that amazing piece that has been replaying in your head?
Remind yourself that fear and worry have no place in you. Even if they surface, you have the strength to push them aside and go after your goals.
Let me hear from you.
Always remember that I love you and am rooting for you. I look forward to writing to you soon. Do take good care of yourself, my friend. *inserts wink*
With love,
Your Biggest Cheerleader.
